Dhanakosa Buddhist Retreat Centre offers a wide range of retreats including yoga, hillwalking, Tai Chi, arts and alternative health, all complementing a programme of introductory meditation teaching. Additionally, there are meditation and Buddhist study retreats designed for those with a more regular practice.
Dhanakosa is beautifully situated in the southern part of the Scottish highlands in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and this setting provides ideal conditions for retreats.
Re-opening and the 2021 programme
In line with Scottish Government guidance, we re-started residential retreats on 30th April 2021. The 2021 residential retreat programme is currently open for bookings with reduced numbers. Do contact the office to go on the waiting lists which we will use to populate retreats when physical distancing rules are changed.
Dhanakosa is closely following announcements from the Scottish government and anticipate being able to increase the number of retreat spaces in mid-August. At present, limited retreat spaces does mean that we will only be accepting one booking per person throughout 2021 to maximise access to retreats for as many people as we can. This may change when we are able to increase retreat spaces. You can read the latest update (July 2021) from Nayaka here and our supporting information for re-opening safely here.

We also have a rich library of meditation, talks and yoga teaching, all for free and online. You can find out more and how to connect with us here.
