Title

13 Feb to 18 Feb 2021
Retreat Type:

The 3 lakshanas (Impermanence, Unsatisfactoriness and Insubstantiality) are a fundamental expression of the Buddha’s vision of Reality. In this teaching, the Buddha is pointing to the transformative effect of acknowledging, allowing, and opening to the ways in which we experience these 3 aspects of our lives and gives us practical advice on how to stay firmly on the path of practice and awakening.

This retreat will explore this teaching with talks, discussion, reflection and meditation - exploring ways to awaken to the truth of reality, right here, right now. We will also incorporate ritual and devotion to aid in the transformation in the fires of our experience.

The retreat will run from 7pm on Saturday 13th February and finish at 12.30 on Thursday 18th February. For more information read the retreat information sheet. Doing an online retreat, you'll be engaging on the retreat within the unique conditions of your day to day life. In order to get the most out of the retreat, we ask you attend as much of the programme as possible. Ahead of the retreat we encourage you to spend some time thinking about how you can create supportive conditions for practice within your day to day environment.

This retreat will be running online using the zoom meeting platform. This works in most web browsers, and you can also get free apps for all major mobile platforms too. You don’t need to pay for an account to take part.

Paying for your retreat

Dhanakosa runs on donations

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only fee we ask you to pay. Dhanakosa operates in the spirit of generosity, or dana (a Sanskrit/Pali word meaning giving or gift). This allows us to be open to anyone regardless of individual financial circumstances, by allowing people to pay what they can afford.

Dhanakosa is continuing to lose money throughout this period of Covid-19 as we have reduced the number of places on each retreat.  Although we recognise that many people are suffering financial hardship and want to keep retreats on a donations basis, if you are able to give a little more than you would normally please consider doing so.

Suggested donations

The donations we collect from you on your retreat guarantee future retreats.

Booking fees for 2021:

  • £30 for online weekend
  • £50 for online week
