getting to dhanakosa by public transport

Covid-19 update: We suggest that people avoid public transport to get to Dhanakosa, however you are still welcome to come on retreat if you do need to use public transport. We do ask that you have a plan to get home avoiding public transport should you develop symptoms, for example a member of your household coming to pick you up.

Do check your journey carefully as we will not be able to offer lifts. And please book all your return travel before you arrive as we will not be arranging lift shares at the end of the retreat.

By Train or Coach

You can get a train to Stirling, then a bus from Stirling to Callander, another bus to Kingshouse. To plan your journey as far as Kingshouse visit Traveline Scotland.

From Kingshouse you will need to book a taxi to Dhanakosa. Stirling council runs Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service in rural areas which will bring you up the Glen for c.£3.50. You can book online or by phone, for more information and to book see the DRT website. Alternatively you can book a taxi direct, the most local company is Kingshouse Travel, this will be more expensive - c.£9.

Kingshouse Travel can also provide a taxi from Stirling station direct to Dhanakosa. This will cost £60 for one person, or less if there are more passengers. Please contact Kingshouse direct to enquire and book - bookings@kingshousetravel.com or call 01877 384768.

 

By Air

You can get a flight to Edinburgh, Glasgow International or Glasgow Prestwick airports. Aim to arrive before 2 pm at the latest. Approximate journey times to Stirling are shown below.

Start/Finish times

Please arrive only between 5-7pm on the day the retreat starts, as we will not have reception outside of this time.

Please let us know if arriving later than 7 pm so that we can save some dinner for you.

Week long retreats will end at approximately 11 am on the final day. Return travel should be booked leaving Stirling after 1 pm, return flights should be no earlier than 4 pm. If you are travelling by public transport, please arrange your return travel before you arrive.

Weekend retreats will finish around 3pm on the Sunday.
