Title

4 Sep to 11 Sep 2020
Retreat Type:

‘Simply being’ points to the aliveness and awakeness that we can recognise at any moment. It’s an openness to full presence, our full being - in body, senses and awareness. It points to being what we really are, beyond conceptual fabrication. In recognising and opening to the steady and spacious aspects of experience here and now, we may glimpse a timeless awareness-emptiness that is inseparable from loving, compassionate energy.

We’ll explore all this through sitting meditation, experiential ‘lookings’ and by discovering our own direct experience as awareness, simplicity, intimacy and aliveness. These qualities are gateways to the five ‘undivided knowings’ (jnanas) which are the essence of the mandala of the five Buddhas. This offers a very practical ‘map’ of our immediate experience, pointing to what has been here all along, unnoticed - simply being.

This retreat is suitable for people with at least six months regular meditation practice and who have attended at least one full weeks retreat before. If the retreat runs at full capacity you can expect there to be between 20 and 26 retreatants on this retreat.

For more information read the retreat information sheet.

Covid-19 update: At the current time we are expecting to be able to run this retreat with a maximum of 10 retreatants and 2 team members. We will be following physical distancing guidelines and have enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures in place.

Coming on retreat in this environment will feel different - we have put together a Covid-19 pre-retreat information sheet with more detail about what to expect, please read this before booking and in advance of coming on retreat.

Paying for your retreat

Dhanakosa runs on donations

To book a retreat you pay a booking fee. This is the only fee we ask you to pay. Dhanakosa operates in the spirit of generosity, or dana (a Sanskrit/Pali word meaning giving or gift). This allows us to be open to anyone regardless of individual financial circumstances, by allowing people to pay what they can afford.

Dhanakosa is continuing to lose money throughout this period of Covid-19 as we have reduced the number of places on each retreat.  Although we recognise that many people are suffering financial hardship and want to keep retreats on a donations basis, if you are able to give a little more than you would normally please consider doing so.

Suggested donations

The donations we collect from you on your retreat guarantee future retreats.

Booking fees for 2020:

  • £30 for online weekend
  • £50 for online week
  • £50 for weekend retreats
  • £75 for week long retreats

Our suggested donations (in addition to the booking fee) for 2020:

  • Week retreats: £460 waged, £295 unwaged
  • Weekend retreats: £175 waged, £120 unwaged

You can do this by phoning the office or donate online here: https://dhanakosa.com/donations Please use the message section of the on-line form, or email us at info@dhanakosa.com to let us know which retreat you are donating for.

It will also be possible to give a donation while you are here. Donations can be made by credit/debit card, cheque or cash.
